these are so pretty! they are made of heavy watercolor paper that has been painted with a small led light on the inside...they would look so pretty on a mantel!

i absolutely LOVE the style and setting for this wedding. and the flowers are pretty sweet as well. i love the lights that hang over the dinner tables...so beautiful!

the photographs are by robert and kathleen photographers. the ceremony and reception were held at the gramercy park hotel in nyc. how awesome would it be to have a wedding in that space??

i thought this was something that could be pretty helpful - this wedding website comes up with different color swatches as ideas for your wedding and then provides different areas of inspiration to go along with those colors! its a good idea -

flowers.

i can't believe that i never thought to post about this before - but wayyy back in october, my mom and i made some special centerpiece flower arrangements for a dinner party she was having. i work part time in a flower department and my boss taught me how to make some very fancy arrangements, so we decided to try them and they came out beautifully! the dinner happened right near halloween, so that is why they are so festive! the first couple are a few that i took at work that my boss made - the pictures there turned out better than my ones from home (i don't know how haha). but the bottom ones on the table are the ones my mom and i made!

rugs.

i think most people who know me would say that i am not a fan of area rugs...especially ones with flowers all over them. but when i saw these rugs i fell in love.

these rugs are designed by amy butler and completely handmade. i think what i enjoy about these - besides the beautiful color combinations - is how modern and abstract they are. from the photos on her website, it looks as though the designs are slightly raised from the background - which is a great detail.

how great would these look in a modern room??

i only wish i could afford them (they are rather pricy) - but maybe someday! oh and one thing i like about the website is that she has a small description about each rug...like what kind of flower or where the inspiration came from...plus you can see her other rugs (my favorite is the bright buds) and more images - check out more of the rugs here!

christmas wreaths.

i have been finding so many good designs recently, i thought i better start sharing again!

i love getting ready for the holiday season! my friend ms and i have recently been going to barnes and noble to sit and look through magazines for holiday recipes and crafts...they are just too expensive to buy every one that i want to read! so while i feel somewhat guilty about it i have also found it very relaxing and that it also fills my head with design and craft ideas.

while i was there earlier tonight, i came across the food network magazine - something i didn't realize they had - just to look for some recipes for the holidays. But as I was looking though, i found a bunch of great ideas - and not just for food! i thought these wreath ideas were wonderful! i sometimes get extremely tired of the same old thing, so it is nice to find a new take on an old tradition!

i am torn between the rock candy and marshmallow wreaths as my favorite...

creative suite.

i randomly came across this while looking for design inspiration. it is so funny to me and i am sure also to those who love the creative suite (m.s. this made me think of you and those easter eggs!), that someone would think of doing this. but i actually think they are cute...and if i had the right place to use them i would totally buy them.

doormat.

something i found while browsing today...a doormat! what a great idea and its absolutely hilarious. i could definitely see myself having this at my front door hahaha.
