mother's day.

nuts and bolts.

so my friend ms and i both saw this diy project awhile ago...and finally got around to making them the other night. and if i do say so myself, they turned out awesome! we saw this hex nut bracelet on pinterest...all you need are some different colored strings (we used heavy duty yarn) and some hex bolts from the hardware store. i personally don't look good in gold, so i went with the standard silver color...but ms decided to buy some that were gold colored and they looked pretty sweet as well! here is where we found the instructions ---- here! they were super simple to make (as long as you know how to braid) the only part that took me a little bit of time was to get the nuts to stay nice and tight, but once you figure it out you can breeze through it the next time! below are some pics of the ones i made...i am very excited to wear them!

sherwin williams part II.

i posted about the sherwin-williams ads awhile ago, but just the other day I saw this commercial on tv and i actually like it better than the print ads! i especially love the beginning of the commercial with the balloons...just thought this was a good extension to the print ads!

and these are two that i actually hadn't seen on tv...but found while looking for the first ad! also nice, but i think the first is my favorite.

birthday.

it was my wonderful cousin's birthday over the weekend...so i of course made her a card! i was also asked by my aunt and uncle to make a card for them to give to her as well...and here are photos of both:

how amazing are these embroidered book covers created by jillian tamaki? they are beyond beautiful...i think my favorite is emma, but maybe that is because that is one of my favorite books hahaha. i might have to buy one of these when they come out in october!

hello again! sorry i have been mia for a little while. it has been a rough couple of weeks - my grandfather died last weekend. it wasn't completely unexpected, since he was nearly 98 years old - but that doesn't make it any easier. i just thought i would share a couple pictures of him with you. i will be back tomorrow and hopefully the rest of the week with some more posts!
